What I like best about autumn is joys a-many, a-plenty!
The stunning range of warmer colour is unsurpassable.
There are fewer flowers, but look at the verbena and aster alone,
Are not the contrasting tones wonderful.
Whilst the claim of the chrysanthemum must not be forgotten.
Nor the drama of the delightful dahlia,
Keeping burning the summer’s embers.
The low backlit, softer autumn sunlight
Is gently bright, a soft highlight of the warmest hues.
Crisp, rather chilly mornings, sparkling frost
Shimmering on stems and seedheads, glistening and glinting.
The amazing acers are outstanding in sunshine,
And the finest berries of richest nature sparkle as jewels
In the beauty of a berry of every colour.
The palette of the autumn season is breathtaking,
Wearing together flowers, fruits and foliage in heartwarming displays.
What an insistent invitation to sit and wonder,
To ponder the glory of this most delightful season.
Autumn is glorious beyond compare.
It is the true love of the Lord God, we share.
Lord, Creator Father, thank You so very much for all the heartwarming displays of autumn. They are a
splendour to Your name as Life Giver. Amen.
